ARCANA

A Salon-Style Storytelling Series As Told Through Tarot by Shena Tarie

Tarot is more than a deck of cards—it is a living story about choice, power, courage, visibility, and becoming.

Join us for a monthly salon-style gathering where we will explore the Major Arcana as a narrative, not through random pulls or predictive readings, but through intentional card selection, mythic storytelling, and shared reflection.

A Tale As Old As Time

The Arcana Series is a curated storytelling experience that explores the Major Arcana of tarot as a living narrative rather than a system of prediction. Each gathering stands on its own, inviting guests to engage with archetypal themes through story, symbolism, and modern cultural references.

These evenings are designed to feel thoughtful, grounded, and accessible. You don’t need prior knowledge of tarot, and you don’t need to believe in anything in particular. This is not fortune-telling. It’s an exploration of patterns, choices, and meaning as they show up in real life.

The Secret Garden

The story of The Magician, Judgement and The Sun exploring themes of agency, responsibility, and illumination

This gathering examines what happens when life is given attention and care. Through the lens of the Secret Garden, we explore the use of tools, the call to step into responsibility, and the way truth and vitality return once something long neglected is brought back into the light.

March 11th| Little James & Zoom

The story of The Empress, The Emperor & Justice exploring the themes of creation, authority, and accountability.

This night looks at the consequences of creation without foresight. Using Frankenstein as a modern myth, we explore generativity, structure, and responsibility. This is a grounded, thoughtful evening focused on what it means to create, contain, and remain accountable for what we bring into the world.

April 8th | Little James & Zoom

Each event focuses on a specific story arc, using a small sequence of cards to explore a shared theme. Guests are welcome to listen, reflect, and engage at their own pace. There is no pressure to participate, share, or perform.

Cupid’s Bow

The Lovers * The Fool * Strength

An exploration around the moment where intention becomes direction. Using the metaphor of Cupid’s bow, we look at what it means to choose consciously, hold tension without force, and release into something new. This night is about orientation rather than outcome, and the quiet power of choosing where to aim.

Meet Your Host

Shena Tarie creates curated storytelling experiences rooted in archetype, symbolism, and lived human experience. Her work uses tarot not as a tool for prediction, but as a narrative framework for exploring the patterns people live inside and the choices they make within them.

With more than twenty years of experience working with tarot, Shena approaches the cards as a language of meaning rather than belief. She engages tarot in the same way one might approach literature, mythology, or psychology, as a symbolic system that reflects how individuals navigate change, power, desire, responsibility, and becoming. What interests her most is not what a card is said to mean, but how its story reveals itself in real life.

Her background bridges both analytical and intuitive disciplines, shaping a teaching style that is grounded, accessible, and reflective. Rather than offering answers or prescriptions, Shena creates space for recognition. Moments where something quietly resonates, unsettles, or clarifies without force. This is where learning moves beyond information and into embodiment.

Through Arcana: A Storytelling Series, she hosts evenings that feel more like conversations than performances. Each gathering is intentionally paced, thoughtfully sequenced, and designed to stand on its own. Guests are invited to listen, reflect, and engage in a way that feels natural, without pressure to share or perform.

At the heart of her work is symbolic and relational literacy, the ability to recognize meaning as it moves through story. When people learn to see archetypes clearly, they begin to notice them everywhere, in books, films, relationships, and their own lives. That recognition subtly changes how choices are made.

Shena is also a member of the Rhythm & Resonance foundation and co-founder of Scarlet Thread Society, where she collaborates with her partner Sam to create experiences centered on connection, curiosity, and depth. Together, they design gatherings that are intentional, well held, and respectful of the inner lives of the people who attend.
